Laboratory Technician Soil Culture Solutions, LLC (d/b/a Soilcea) Tampa, FL Job Details Full-time $16 - $23 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Paid time off Qualifications Biotechnology Teamwork Dishwashing Scientific research Research Attention to detail Safety standard operating procedures Full Job Description Position Overview Soilcea is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lab Technician to support our cutting-edge research in citrus biotechnology. This position entails hands-on experience in CRISPR-Cas9 editing workflows and plant tissue culture techniques, contributing directly to the development of disease-resistant citrus varieties. The ideal candidate will have a background in life sciences and a passion for laboratory work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Pay Pay is based on tissue-culture experience. With academic or limited experience, pay will start at $16 per hour during 90 day period, and will increase to $18 per hour at the 90 day mark. There is an annual review and pay raises commensurate with performance will be provided. Key Responsibilities Assist in Agrobacterium-mediated plant transformations Support tissue culture and regeneration of citrus plants Perform PCR screening of edited plants Maintain plant materials and lab inventory Prepare media and reagents for experiments Perform general lab maintenance including dishwashing and cleaning Follow safety protocols and contribute to a clean, organized workspace Required Qualifications Familiarity with basic lab techniques and sterile procedures preferred Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols Willingness to learn and contribute to a team-oriented research environment About Soilcea Soilcea is a pioneering agricultural biotechnology company focused on developing CRISPR-edited citrus varieties resistant to devastating bacterial diseases.
