• Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Quality Control Lab Technician specializing in asphalt to join our dynamic construction and materials testing team.

In this vital role, you will perform rigorous laboratory testing and analysis of asphalt samples to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications. Your expertise will help maintain the highest quality standards across construction projects, supporting the delivery of durable, safe, and reliable infrastructure. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive laboratory tests on asphalt samples, including gradation, air voids, AC content. Has the ability to branch out into Mixture Design and Asphalt Emulsions Perform testing of asphalt materials at various stages of production and application at our plant facility to include raw materials and product. Collect and document test data accurately, maintaining detailed records for quality assurance and project documentation purposes. Analyze test results to identify potential issues or deviations from specifications, recommending corrective actions when necessary. Assist with construction site inspections related to asphalt paving processes, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and contract requirements. Support construction teams by providing technical guidance on asphalt material handling, mixing, and placement procedures. Collaborate with QC Manager to ensure that all asphalt-related work meets quality standards and contractual obligations. Qualifications This can be an entry level position. If you are entry level, note that one must obtain a CTQP Plant Level I and II certification within 4 months of employment. Prefer 3-6 months in industry. Proven laboratory experience with a focus on construction materials testing, particularly asphalt or related composites. Strong understanding of construction processes, including asphalt production Familiarity with quality control practices, data collection techniques, and analysis skills necessary for accurate testing outcomes. Experience conducting plant inspection activities on active sites; knowledge of asphalt plants is a plus. Ability to interpret technical specifications and perform detailed analysis to support quality assurance efforts. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and reporting.
