We are currently hiring for a R D Technician in our Polyurethane and Thermoplastics lab who will be responsible for testing materials throughout phases of production which required the operation of a variety of equipment to test polyurethane applied backings. The role requires the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects to facilitate testing. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Employee must pass a fitness for duty test, drug screen and submit to a TB test on a post offer employment physical. Prepare samples for testing. Perform physical testing using Instron. (Tensile, Tear, Elongation and Tuft bind). Data entry of test results. Compression Sets on polyurethane cushion production. Pill Test of polyurethane residential products. Perform Delamination testing on production products. Perform physical testing on R D projects to help develop new products. Operate and maintain the pilot line. Assist in identifying and correcting manufacturing issues. Job is performed onsite. No remote work offered for this position. Follow safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Problem solving/analysis of technical capacity. Organizational skills. Strategic thinking. Basic computer skills. Knowledge of SAP. High level of attention to detail. Required Education and Experience High School Diploma, required. Associate degree or Technical Certification in a scientific field, preferred. 1
  • 3 years of lab or testing experience, preferred.
Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of standing at the lab workbench. Ability to work in a controlled environmental setting where temperatures are controlled. However, there are times when the job is performed in an uncontrolled environment where the temperatures can be extremely cold, hot of humid depending on the outside temperature. Work in an environment where there are unexpected, sudden loud noises, beeping backup alarms, flashing lights and sudden movements Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times by lifting, pulling or pushing. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds by reaching above the shoulders. Work Schedule Monday
  • Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Overtime is mandatory from time to time based on business need. Work environment is on site. Remote work not offered for this position. Pay Range $22.00 to $24.00 an hour based on education and verifiable work experience as a lab technician.
