Location Statesboro Campus - Statesboro, GA Department Information Department of Biology Job Summary The Temporary employee will support the Department of Biology as a Laboratory/Field Technician on the Statesboro Campus. This position will support summer sampling and laboratory processing of benthic invertebrate communities from regional rivers, estuaries, and coastal sites. Temporary employees are employed according to departmental need and the length of time will vary by workload and may not exceed 1300 hours worked in a 12-consecutive month period. Employment is contingent upon funding. Responsibilities Assists with field collection Assists with sample sorting Assists with basic laboratory preparation associated with ongoing aquatic ecology research Shift Specifics 40 hours per week Flexible with schedule of availability June 1, 2026 - July 31, 2026 Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Master's Degree in Biology or equivalent Required Experience Demonstrated experience in field Biology, Ecology, or environmental science Background working with aquatic invertebrates and associated sampling or laboratory techniques Ability to work outdoors in variable conditions and follow established field and lab protocols with accuracy and attention to detail Proposed Salary $17.68 per hour This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
