Job Description
Overview Polysomnographic Technologist - Fort Dodge, IA 3 shifts per week. Hours 6:30pm-7am, includes every other Friday and Saturday Eligible for $7500 Sign-on Bonus A registered polysomnographic technologist works under the general supervision of the department manager/lead tech to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education. The registered polysomnographic technologist is credentialed in sleep technology by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT). Why UnityPoint Health? Responsibilities Perform polysomnography studies in accordance with departmental standards (baseline, split-night, PAP titration, MSLT, MWT) Demonstrate knowledge of sleep disorders, including sleep apnea, narcolepsy, insomnia, parasomnias, seizures, and related conditions Administer oxygen and CPAP/BiPAP therapy per physician orders; educate patients on proper use and care Prepare detailed reports of study findings, including treatment recommendations when applicable Maintain, clean, calibrate, and troubleshoot sleep lab equipment Collect and review patient medical history and medications to ensure appropriate testing Perform neurodiagnostic and sleep disorder testing for adolescent and adult patients Educate patients and families on procedures, results, and follow-up careQualifications Education:
Diploma or degree in college level science field of polysomnography, electroneurodiagnostics or completion of degree and licensure in health care.Experience:
Six months experience in Sleep Disorders Center preferred. License(s)/Certification(s): Registered Polysomnographic Technician or registry eligible. Board certified by the Board of Registration of Polysomnographic Technologist (BRPT) must be obtained within first year of employment. Must become Iowa Licensed in Polysomnographic Technology under the regulations set forth in Iowa House File 203. BLS requiredSimilar jobs in Fort Dodge, IA
