ACHS is seeking a PRN Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join our hospital laboratory team. In this role, you will perform high-quality, complex laboratory analyses in accordance with professional laboratory standards and hospital policies and procedures. PRN position with flexible scheduling Work in a full-service hospital laboratory Supportive, team-oriented clinical environment Competitive wages Award-winning workplace culture focused on collaboration and respect Essential Functions Obtain and collect specimens for laboratory testing, including blood, urine, sputum, and throat swabs; seek assistance appropriately when needed. Verify test requisitions for accuracy and completeness prior to specimen collection and confirm positive patient identification. Perform venipunctures, finger sticks, and arterial punctures using aseptic technique in accordance with hospital procedures. Ensure specimen requirements are met at the time of collection and maintain specimen integrity; properly label all specimens. Perform routine and complex laboratory analyses; recognize inconsistencies and take appropriate corrective action. Communicate critical test results to physicians and/or nursing personnel according to established criteria. Prepare clear, concise, and timely test reports, initialing and dating all work performed. Conduct quality control testing per procedure, maintain accurate documentation, analyze data, and implement corrective actions when results fall outside acceptable limits. Resolve or report out-of-control laboratory situations and seek assistance as needed. Perform preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment, documenting instrument checks, issues, and corrective actions taken. Recognize, analyze, and resolve instrument or clinical problems, assisting other laboratory personnel as needed. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology from an accredited institution required. ASCP certification or equivalent nationally recognized Medical Technologist certification required. Current BLS certification required. Previous MT or MLT experience in a clinical laboratory preferred.
