Job Description We are seeking a Lab Assistant, Trait Transient Assay (TTA) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in general laboratory operations, plant assays, sterile technique, and data recording and a proven ability to support assay development by executing experimental tasks with accuracy and maintaining compliant lab operations .
Responsibilities:
Adhere to safety and risk management practices. Perform routine laboratory operations and standard cleaning procedures. Support plant assays, including sampling, bacterial culture maintenance, and plant care. Work in controlled environments such as growth chambers to execute plant care tasks. Utilize laboratory instruments to analyze samples and record results with accuracy. Maintain sterile technique during all relevant procedures. Perform plasmid isolations and document outcomes. Analyze and report data associated with conducted assays. Communicate clearly with laboratory and project leads and collaborate with team members. Perform repetitive tasks with focus and attention to detail. Stand for extended periods and complete required physical tasks.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Associate degree in a relevant field. Experience in a laboratory setting, including sterile technique and equipment maintenance. Hands-on skills with basic molecular biology tasks such as plasmid isolation. Ability to perform plant care activities in controlled environments. Accurate data entry, recordkeeping, and sample handling.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with growth chamber operations and plant assay workflows. Experience with bacterial culture maintenance and basic assay data analysis.
Work Schedule & Other Details:
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 40 hours per week. No overtime.
Driving:
Not required for this assignment.
