5+ months (Extension possible) Contractor Position Description Lab Assistant The Trait Transient Assay (TTA) team is responsible for developing and optimizing various assay platforms to identify and characterize hits, actives, leads, and construct performance. As part of the Assay Development and Characterization team, the Lab Assistant will perform general laboratory operations tasks and provide support with experimental execution, at the direction of laboratory and/or project leads.
Responsibilities and Tasks May Include:
Commitment to excellent safety and risk management practices. Ability to work both independently and part of a team. Attention to detail and ability to stay focused while performing repetitive tasks. Maintaining laboratory facilities and equipment in accordance with laboratory standards. Assist in plant assays including sampling, bacterial culture maintenance, and plant care. Working in controlled environments (Growth Chambers) to perform various plant care tasks. Utilize lab instruments to analyze samples and record results with attention to detail. Perform lab duties with regard to sterile technique. Standard lab cleaning procedures. Plasmid isolations. Analyze and report data associated with conducted assays. Clear communication and strong ability to work efficiency or something along those lines. Ability to stand for long periods of time and perform physical tasks. Education and Experience Associate's (2-yr) required. New graduates with experience in a laboratory setting are encouraged to apply. Shift/Schedule Monday
