Salary/Grade:
NEX/10 Target hiring range for this position will be between $18.42-$23.02 per hour. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Job Summary:
The Lab Assistant is responsible for a) daily management of physical resources (eg., inventory, supplies, equipment), b) monitoring lab practices and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory (government and university) requirements and technical updates (eg., safety, biohazard waste disposal, training), c) maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory interfaces, d) assisting with data mining, e) providing miscellaneous assistance to PI (or designee) on an ad hoc basis/as requested. •

Specific Responsibilities:
Inventory Take inventory and stock hallway, storage and break rooms. Receive and distribute mail/packages to the correct lab group. Lab instruments/equipment Troubleshooting/maintenance Coordinate instrument movement/installation/training Work with instrument vendors and establish service contracts for all instruments Shipping Generate Fedex labels and coordinate shipping details Communications/emails Establish work relationship with vendors Follow up on outstanding orders Obtain quotes from vendors for reagents General Assist w/new lab/department member onboarding/contact person Assist w/coordinating with IT for new employees or tech issues Assist w/department printer troubleshooting Lab Safety Coordinate annual safety inspections Coordinate annual lab member safety trainings Coordinate Biohazardous waste disposal Coordinate completion of eIBC form Miscellaneous Performed other duties
Minimum Qualifications:
(Education, experience, and any other certifications or clearances) Some experience working in a laboratory or administrative medical office setting
