Job Overview:

As an Accessioner, you will be integral in preparing, handling, and processing laboratory specimens. This role is ideal for someone with a background in biology, chemistry, or a related medical field and who is comfortable working with urine and blood specimens. Key Responsibilities:

Specimen Processing:

Prepare and process laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.

Organization:

Unpack and organize specimens to their designated areas.

Identification and Labeling:

Accurately identify and label specimens.

Goal Achievement:

Achieve departmental goals for activity and production.

Specimen Management:

Manage and store excess specimen samples effectively.

Data Entry:

Conduct precise and timely data entry of patient information.

Problem Resolution:

Address and document issues with problem specimens.

Document Handling:

Scan and handle patient information documents.

Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or GED (Required). Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related field (Preferred).

Experience:

At least 1 year of experience as an Accessioner (Preferred, not required). Laboratory experience (Preferred).

Skills:

Proficient in data entry with a minimum typing speed of 40 WPM (Required). Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment (Required). Comfortable handling urine and blood specimens (Required).

Background:

Experience in a medical field (e.g., doctor's office, patient care, pharmacy technician) (Preferred).

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing 10-30 lbs. Capability to stand, sit, and bend for prolonged periods.

Additional Notes:
