Polysomnographic Technologist (Sleep Tech) -
Travel Assignment Location:
Rockford, IL 61104
Duration:
13 Weeks (Possible Extension)
Shift:
Night Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM) Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Polysomnographic Technologist (Sleep Tech) to join our team for a travel assignment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing comprehensive sleep studies, monitoring patients during overnight diagnostic testing, and ensuring accurate data collection to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders. Key Responsibilities Perform overnight polysomnographic (PSG) studies in accordance with established sleep laboratory protocols. Monitor, record, and analyze physiological data during sleep studies, including EEG and other diagnostic parameters. Prepare patients for sleep studies by explaining procedures and applying monitoring equipment. Observe patients throughout testing and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition. Ensure accurate documentation of patient information, study findings, and test results. Troubleshoot and maintain sleep study equipment to ensure accurate recordings. Follow infection control, patient safety, and quality assurance guidelines. Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support quality patient care. Qualifications Minimum 1 year of experience working in sleep disorder diagnostics required. Strong knowledge of EEGs, anatomy, and physiology. Travel experienced is required. Excellent patient care, communication, and critical thinking skills. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment. Education High School Diploma or higher required . Certifications Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification required . BLS Certification (American Heart Association) required .
