Position Description Agdia, Inc is looking for an entry level laboratory technician to perform requested diagnostic assays on customer plant samples in their
ISO/IEC 17025
2017 accredited Testing Services Laboratory.
Primary Duties:
Prepare representative working tissue samples and purified extracts Prepare dilutions of test reagents and stock buffer solutions Assign preliminary diagnoses to customer samples based on test results Create and maintain electronic files and hardcopies of customer records Maintain lab cleanliness, organization, and supply inventories. Strictly adhere to Agdia's quality policies and systems The applicant is expected to become proficient in the following areas: Serological technologies including ELISA and Lateral Flow Strip Molecular technologies including PCR, Real-time PCR, Nucleic Acid Hybridization, and Isothermal Amplification High throughput processing of varied quantities of samples using multiple technologies Contents and application of Agdia's product catalog and products from other companies Microsoft Office, including
Access, and Excel Skills/Qualifications:
2 to 4 years of college education in biology or related field, plant science preferred 1 to 2 years of work history in any field Basic laboratory experience (use of mass balance, pH meter, pipette, centrifuge) General understanding of serological and molecular theory Strong math skills (must be able to prepare a serial dilution) Strong organizational, written and communication skills Stellar attendance record, positive attitude, and a collaborative personality The physical ability to perform bench work and to use a pipette or similar device for long periods of time Must be self motivated and a detail-oriented team player Must be able to multitask and focus with constantly changing responsibilities
