About This Position:
Full Time, Night Shift This position provides functional guidance to Polysomnographic Technicians and Technologists in the Sleep Disorders Center. They assist with precepting, shift coverage and inventory duties. In addition to performing all duties of the Polysomnographic Technologist, this position monitors nightly workflow, serves as nighttime coordinator for patient testing, and serves as a resource person on technical and medical matters. They will perform duties and tasks of the area's major work functions approximately 60-70% of the time.

High School Diploma/GED required. Associate's degree preferred. Requires 5-7 years of relevant experience. 5 or more years of Polysomnographic Technologist experience preferred Requires current RPSGT or certification as Sleep Disorders Specialist (with an active RRT through NBRC or an active RCP with the state of Indiana). Requires Basic Life Support certification. Prefer additional experience in respiratory care or neurodiagnostics. Requires in-depth knowledge of polysomnographic testing, scoring practices and procedures associated with an accredited sleep disorders center. Requires the ability to operate complex equipment, which includes the ability to recognize defective operation and perform minor calibrations or repairs to equipment. Requires the ability to recognize defects in the record caused by movement, loose electrodes and local interference. Requires independent judgment based on thorough knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures. Requires effective communication skills, computer skills, technical adaptability and the ability to work without direct supervision. Requires the ability to handle discretionary information.
