6:00 AM - 6:30 PM Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS/MT) to join our hospital laboratory team. The ideal candidate will independently perform, interpret, and correlate clinical laboratory testing to support physician diagnosis and patient treatment. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain high-quality laboratory standards in an inpatient healthcare setting. Key Responsibilities Perform moderate and high-complexity clinical laboratory testing according to established policies and procedures. Evaluate and verify specimen integrity and suitability to meet pre-analytical requirements. Accurately analyze, interpret, and report laboratory test results. Communicate critical laboratory findings and test results promptly to appropriate healthcare providers. Monitor workflow status and effectively communicate testing updates when necessary. Perform and document quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results. Conduct routine instrument maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and corrective actions. Maintain laboratory reagent and supply inventory levels. Ensure accurate documentation of testing activities, quality measures, and corrective actions. Adhere to all laboratory safety, regulatory, and accreditation standards. Assist with onboarding and training of new laboratory employees and students. Required Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Medical Laboratory Science, or another Laboratory Science field. Experience Minimum of two (2) years of recent hospital/inpatient laboratory experience required. Certifications/Licensure Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification required. MLS/MT certification accepted. Required Skills Clinical Laboratory Testing Specimen Evaluation and Processing Critical Test Result Communication Quality Control Procedures Instrument Maintenance and Calibration Laboratory Troubleshooting Reagent Inventory Management Supply Inventory Management Documentation and Record Keeping Training and Mentoring Additional Requirements Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital laboratory environment. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English. Preferred Qualifications MLS/MT certification. Experience performing high-complexity testing in a hospital laboratory setting. Previous experience training laboratory staff or students.

Pay:

Are you comfortable working on 3-5 months of contract assignment with extensions? Are you comfortable with the rate of $32 - $35 an hour? Do you hold EPIC experience?
