At Avium, we make producing hydrogen using distributed energy and water electrolysis more efficient and less expensive. The successful candidate will assist with producing catalyst coated electrodes and operating electrolyzer systems. The position involves executing experimental runs, data acquisition, assembly, troubleshooting, installation, repair, and post-run teardown of electrolysis equipment, including chemical, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic and PLCs.
Salary:
$48,000 - $72,000/yrTentative Start Date:
as early as June 29, 2026. Job Description- ~25% Executing runs and post-run teardown of electrolyzers
- ~25% Troubleshooting and operating test and production equipment
- ~25% Assisting with fabrication of custom test and production equipment
- ~25% General laboratory tasks
- This is an on-site position in Lawrence, KS Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree in relevant field.
- Mechanical/technical aptitude with safe work habits and good working knowledge of equipment operation and mechanical functions.
- Familiarity with chemical handling and contamination-prevention protocols.
- Minimum 1 year experience in an industrial and/or laboratory environment - including internship or university laboratories. Preferred Qualifications
- Comfortable with assembly/disassembly of mechanical and laboratory equipment.
- Enthusiastic about research and development and/or start-ups.
- Knowledge in fabrication, welding, pipefitting, and/or machining.
- Experience working in chemical plants or oil/gas facilities.
