Job Description

Quality Control Technician Job Description The Quality Control Technician performs routine analytical testing on animal pharmaceutical products, ensuring that all results meet established quality standards and regulatory expectations. This role focuses on analytical and wet chemistry techniques, including HPLC and FTIR, and requires accurate documentation of all findings in a GMP laboratory environment. The position offers a stable opportunity to contribute to the quality and safety of pharmaceutical products while working a consistent day shift schedule. Responsibilities Perform routine quality control testing on animal pharmaceutical products using analytical techniques such as HPLC and FTIR. Conduct wet chemistry and basic laboratory tests according to established methods, procedures, and specifications. Accurately document test methods, observations, data, and results in laboratory records and quality systems. Follow Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines and standard operating procedures to maintain data integrity and product quality. Perform basic housekeeping duties in the laboratory to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Calibrate, operate, and care for laboratory instruments and equipment as required for daily testing. Communicate any out-of-specification or abnormal results promptly to appropriate team members. Support continuous improvement of laboratory processes by following best practices and providing feedback on testing procedures. Essential Skills Experience with analytical chemistry techniques, including routine use of HPLC and FTIR. Hands-on experience with wet chemistry and basic laboratory testing methods. Quality control experience in a GMP laboratory or manufacturing facility (GMP experience preferred but not required). Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document test procedures, data, and results. Ability to follow written procedures, methods, and standard operating procedures consistently. Basic understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) principles and quality systems. Effective time management skills to handle routine testing and documentation within defined timelines. Ability to perform housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a science discipline, preferably Chemistry. Previous experience in a quality control laboratory supporting pharmaceutical or related products. Familiarity with laboratory equipment operation, calibration, and basic troubleshooting. Strong organizational and record-keeping skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with the broader team. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
