Responsibilities of Medical Lab Technician:
Shift:
12- hours Nights 36 hours/week. (3
- 2) 13-week contract Conduct a wide range of laboratory procedures using established protocols and techniques to ensure accurate test results.
Collect, process, and handle specimens such as blood, urine, or tissue samples with strict adherence to aseptic techniques and safety standards. Perform venipuncture and blood sampling procedures efficiently while maintaining patient comfort and safety. Analyze laboratory data accurately, document findings meticulously, and communicate results to healthcare providers promptly. Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment, calibrating instruments, and ensuring compliance with quality control standards. Support patient service activities by explaining procedures clearly, addressing patient concerns professionally, and ensuring a respectful environment. Maintain detailed records of tests performed, sample processing, and quality assurance measures in accordance with hospital policies. Collaborate with clinical staff to support overall patient care through reliable laboratory services. Qualifications Proven experience in clinical laboratory settings with proficiency in laboratory procedures and techniques. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to laboratory testing. Hands-on experience with specimen collection methods such as venipuncture and blood sampling. Familiarity with hospital or healthcare environment protocols for patient care and safety. Knowledge of aseptic techniques, blood sample handling, and vital signs measurement is essential. Prior experience in phlebotomy and blood collection is highly desirable. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work efficiently under pressure. Certification or licensure as a Medical Laboratory Technician is preferred but not mandatory depending on regional regulations.
