Water Quality Intern (Part-time)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Perform chemical and/or microbiological analyses for samples collected from raw, plant processes and distribution sites, including customer complaint samples and construction related samples. Follow and meet all laboratory quality control and quality assurance requirements. Maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, as assigned. Maintain all necessary analytical results, QA/QC data and laboratory hygiene records as required by Louisville Water Company and regulatory guidelines. Assist in responding to customer and management inquiries concerning water quality. Perform other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

None.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Works in both laboratory and field settings. Chemical and bacteriological laboratories may contain hazardous materials and equipment. Field activities may include sampling of the river, treatment processes and distribution systems; travels between various company locations and work sites.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or equivalent; and Current college student pursuing a degree in: Engineering, Chemistry, Biology or related science field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Associates degree in Applied Science.
