Rachel Velez Job Summary/Basic Functions The Department of Chemistry and Forensic Science is seeking Undergraduate Laboratory Assistants to assist with the coverage of laboratory courses under the supervision of the laboratory course coordinator and a faculty supervisor. Responsibilities include attending trainings, pre-lab discussions, preparing for the laboratory by completing the experiment themselves or shadowing an experienced teaching assistant, ensuring the safety of students, and grading/recording reports for their lab section(s). Assistants must be available during scheduled lab class meetings as well as prep time outside of class. Appointment is for the Summer 2026 semester, with option to renew as openings are available. Successful candidates must be enrolled full-time at EKU and meet eligibility requirements for Federal Work Study and/or Institutional Work Study. They must have completed CHE 325 and CHE 362 and have a minimum GPA of 3.0 for all courses taken. Candidates pursuing a degree in Chemistry or related STEM program are strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities include:

Assistant will be paid for time spent in and out of the lab.
