Full-Time/Regular The Boston University Pulmonary Center, Bosmann Lab is recruiting a Research Laboratory Technician for projects on the molecular immune response to infections. Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), pneumonia and sepsis are life-threatening complications of microbial infections with profound disturbances of the immune system. In the current absence of definitive treatment options, ARDS and sepsis represent an enormous problem for health systems worldwide. Our laboratory is dedicated to obtain a better mechanistic understanding of the molecular pathogenesis of bacterial, viral and parasitic infections including the evaluation of new therapeutic targets. Please also see our publication in Nature Communications. 2020 Aug 12;11(1):4035. We are especially interested in novel genes for which several genetically engineered mouse strains were generated by CRISPR-Cas9 in our laboratory. We seek a highly motivated Research Technician for performing and assisting in our studies which include animal models of disease (e.g. mouse survival surgery), mouse genotyping and mouse breeding colony management, cell cultures, immunology methods and molecular biology (e.g. ELISA, PCR, Western blotting, lung histology). The remaining time will be dedicated to basic lab management and organization. We offer training opportunities related to our exciting research projects and work experience in an international team of scientists/physicians.
