Duties Receive and verify incoming specimens, ensuring proper labeling and documentation in accordance with laboratory protocols. Prepare specimens for analysis by performing tasks such as centrifugation, aliquoting, and preservation using aseptic techniques. Maintain strict adherence to laboratory procedures and safety standards, including proper disposal of biohazardous materials. Conduct routine quality control checks on specimens and processing equipment to ensure optimal performance. Assist with specimen collection procedures such as venipuncture or spinal taps when required, following established protocols. Manage specimen storage conditions and maintain detailed logs for tracking and retrieval purposes. Collaborate with clinical staff to clarify test orders and resolve specimen-related issues promptly. Support laboratory management by maintaining organized work areas and documenting processing activities accurately. Qualifications Proven experience in a clinical or research laboratory setting with a focus on specimen processing or related procedures. Knowledge of laboratory management systems, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to specimen handling. Proficiency in laboratory techniques such as venipuncture, catheterization, spinal taps, and phlebotomy. Familiarity with aseptic techniques, laboratory procedures, and biosafety standards. Strong understanding of physiology concepts pertinent to cardiac catheterization and other diagnostic procedures. Basic life support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire. Experience working in hospital or veterinary laboratories is advantageous. "TGIT01"
