Job Description

Lab Technician — Co-op / Part-Time Phase Two Chemicals, Inc. Lowell, MA Job Details Part-time $18 - $22 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Implementing laboratory protocols Organic chemistry Personal protective equipment (PPE) use Attention to detail Chemistry Full Job Description About Phase Two Chemicals Phase Two Chemicals (PTC) is a Lowell, MA-based startup developing on-site electrochemical production of hydrogen peroxide for the pulp and paper industry. Our 24-station test lab in Lowell is where we develop and refine the electrochemistry behind our commercial product. This is a chance to get real bench experience in an active electrochemistry lab while you're still in school. The Role You'll work alongside our lab team running the day-to-day test program. The work is structured and procedural — we'll train you on the chemistry and equipment, and you'll build hands-on skills in electrochemistry, cell construction, and lab procedure. What you'll be doing Operating the test stations. Start and stop electrochemical tests, monitor running cells, log readings. Electrode preparation. Prep electrodes for upcoming tests — cleaning, surface treatment, assembly. Cell teardowns and cleaning. Disassemble cells after tests, clean components, and prepare them for the next run. Titrations. Run routine cathode and anode titrations. Data entry and reporting. Log work in our internal lab app and write clear notes for downstream analysis. What We're Looking For Comfortable with hands-on lab work and following written procedures closely. Attention to detail — readings, measurements, and accurate note taking. Willing to work with industrial chemicals (caustic, acid, compressed gases) once trained on PPE and handling. Available a consistent block of hours each week — we can flex around classes, but we need predictability. No prior lab experience required. Coursework in general chemistry or organic chemistry is a plus. This is hands-on technical work. You'll leave with real electrochemistry experience and exposure to a developing technology — a strong foundation if you're considering ChemE, materials, or process engineering after graduation.
