General Summary of Position:
The Temporary Researcher (PhD) will support research and development activities related to point-of-care diagnostic technologies. The position will assist with experimental design, assay development and optimization, data collection and analysis, troubleshooting, and documentation of research findings. This temporary, non-benefited staff part-time appointment will support project-specific research needs for a defined 9-month period. Minimum Qualifications (Required): A Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field is required. The candidate must have experience conducting laboratory research, designing and troubleshooting experiments, analyzing scientific data, maintaining accurate research records, and working independently and collaboratively in a laboratory environment.
Additional Considerations:
This is a temporary, non-benefited staff part-time position beginning May 25, 2026 and ending February 24, 2027. The appointment is project-specific and intended to provide time-limited research support for point-of-care diagnostics without creating a permanent benefited staff position. Compensation will be hourly and subject to actual hours worked and university approval.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred qualifications include experience with point-of-care diagnostics, assay development, biosensors, biomarker detection, immunoassays, molecular diagnostics, microfluidics, or related bioanalytical methods. Experience working with biological or clinical samples, performing assay validation, preparing technical reports, and contributing to manuscripts, presentations, or grant-related materials is also desirable.
