  • $32 per hour Job Overview This role supports the efficient operation of the Pathology Department by performing a combination of technical and administrative duties, including specimen processing, accessioning, data entry, and clerical support to ensure accurate and timely patient results.
Key Responsibilities Perform specimen receiving, accessioning, and data entry in laboratory systems Provide clerical and administrative support, including answering calls, typing reports, and managing inquiries Retrieve specimens from operating room and laboratory areas, ensuring accurate patient identification and labeling Process and verify pathology and cytology specimens for accuracy and special handling requirements Track specimens sent to reference labs or external facilities Prepare and organize slides and materials for tumor boards, quality assurance reviews, and medical inquiries Package and prepare specimens for shipment Maintain logs and documentation for reference lab cases File, scan, and update patient and specimen records Maintain cleanliness and organization of lab work areas, equipment, and storage Manage slide and block filing systems and handle return mail Ensure availability of supplies, reagents, and laboratory materials Follow quality control procedures and safety protocols Provide excellent customer service to patients, staff, and visitors Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required Minimum 1 year of lab-related, phlebotomy, or clinical support experience or Associate's degree in a health science field Proficiency with computer systems and laboratory information systems Strong data entry, multitasking, and organizational skills Knowledge of medical terminology Typing speed of at least 30 WPM Experience with EPIC preferred Ability to handle specimens accurately and efficiently For more details contact at hdavda@navitashealth.com or Call / Text at 516-862-1169.
