  • $72,000 Job Description Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Lab Technician 4
  • Bacteriology to support our client located in Frederick, MD. The Lab Technician 4
  • Bacteriology will provide hands-on laboratory support across microbiology, molecular biology, cell culture, and animal research studies. This individual will work closely with Principal Investigators and research teams to execute bacteriological assays, analyze data, and maintain laboratory operations in regulated environments. Responsibilities of the Lab Technician 4
  • Bacteriology include:
  • Perform bacterial culture, isolation, purification, and characterization in BSL-2 and BSL-3 environments
  • Execute molecular biology assays including PCR, agarose gel electrophoresis, DNA preparation, and cloning support
  • Conduct cell culture activities, including maintenance of mammalian cell lines and viability assays
  • Support animal studies by assisting with dosing, sample collection, and bacterial challenge preparations
  • Prepare microbiological media, reagents, buffers, and laboratory solutions for experimental use
  • Maintain laboratory inventory, equipment, and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Analyze, document, and organize experimental data while supporting assay development and optimization Qualifications for the Lab Technician 4
  • Bacteriology include:
  • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related field
  • 3+ years of laboratory experience in microbiology, molecular biology, or infectious disease research
  • Hands-on experience with PCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA preparation, and related molecular techniques
  • Experience with bacterial culture and microbiological laboratory procedures
  • Strong laboratory documentation, data tracking, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a research environment
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain BPRP and CS-PRP certifications Compensation for the Lab Technician 4
  • Bacteriology includes:
Salary Range:
$65,000
  • $72,000 depending on experience
