Job Description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Lab Technician 4
  • Bacteriology to support a federal research partner focused on infectious disease, biodefense, and medical countermeasure development. This position is on-site in the Frederick, MD. The Lab Technician 4
  • Bacteriology will provide advanced laboratory support across bacteriology, molecular biology, cell biology, and animal research in BSL‑2 and BSL‑3 environments, directly enabling high‑impact national security and public health research.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to mission‑critical science protecting both military and civilian populations. Responsibilities for the Lab Technician 4
  • Bacteriology include: Supporting bacteriology and molecular microbiology research focused on bacterial virulence, pathogenesis, and medical countermeasure evaluation Performing bacterial culture, isolation, characterization, and screening assays in BSL‑2 and BSL‑3 laboratory environments Conducting molecular biology and biochemical assays including PCR, gel electrophoresis, cloning support, and Western blot analysis Supporting cell culture experiments and animal challenge studies, including dosing, sample collection, and bacterial burden assessments Managing laboratory operations, inventory, documentation, safety compliance, and data organization Required Qualifications for the Lab Technician 4•Bacteriology include: Minimum of 3+ years of laboratory experience supporting microbiology, molecular biology, or infectious disease research Hands‑on experience with PCR, agarose gel electrophoresis, DNA preparation, plasmid isolation, and bacterial culture techniques Strong laboratory documentation, data organization, and regulated environment compliance skills Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related life sciences field Ability to obtain and maintain BPRP and CS‑PRP certifications and work in BSL‑2 and BSL‑3 laboratory environments Compensation for the Lab Technician 4•Bacteriology include:
Salary Range:
$65,000
  • 70,000
  • depending on experience
