Job DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Laboratory Technician to join our team in Lanham, United States. In this Technician 1 position, you will play a crucial role in our sample management operations, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of laboratory processes. You will be responsible for handling, preparing, and managing samples while maintaining strict adherence to laboratory protocols and quality standards. This role requires a methodical approach to work, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to operational excellence.

Provide exceptional customer service.

Interact with clients, both in person and over the phone.

Receive, log, and organize laboratory samples according to established protocols and chain-of-custody procedures to ensure client expectations and deadlines are met.

Communicate with customers and laboratory personnel to resolve problems.

Prepare samples for testing by performing appropriate preprocessing, labeling, and documentationOperate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionalityConduct routine quality control checks and document results accuratelyMaintain detailed and organized records of all sample activities, test results, and equipment maintenanceFollow all laboratory safety protocols and regulatory compliance requirementsIdentify and report any discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, or procedural concerns to supervisory staffAssist in inventory management of laboratory supplies and reagentsSupport the efficient workflow of the laboratory by coordinating with other team membersPerform data entry and maintain laboratory information systems with precision and accuracyOther duties as assignedQualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalentExcellent customer service skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word) and Adobe AcrobatExcellent typing skills and proficiency in data entryExcellent organizational and record-keeping skills with meticulous attention to detailStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracyClear written and verbal communication skillsAbility to follow complex instructions and work independently with minimal supervisionAbility to effectively collaborate in a diverse team environmentAbility to operate standard laboratory equipment and instruments and familiarity with laboratory information management systems (preferred)Experience working in a laboratory environment, preferably in sample management or testing (preferred)Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards (preferred)Proficiency in sample preparation, handling, and storage techniques (preferred)The hourly rate for this position is $18.00 per hour (dependent on experience). This position is eligible for overtime pay.
