Ann Arbor, MI Job Details Temporary $18 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Teamwork Attention to detail Organizational skills Industrial laboratory experience Assays Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Microbiology Laboratory Technician I for a dynamic 5-6 month project to support our microbiological research and quality control initiatives. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced laboratory environment, applying your scientific expertise to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will be passionate about microbiology, possess strong laboratory skills, and thrive in a collaborative setting focused on research and development. Duties Perform microbiological testing and analysis on various samples following established laboratory procedures and protocols Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of experimental procedures, results, and observations in Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) Assist in the preparation of culture media, reagents, and other laboratory supplies necessary for microbiology assays Conduct quality control checks to ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices), and FDA regulations Support research activities by collecting data, analyzing results, and preparing reports for review by senior scientists Follow safety guidelines related to microbiology techniques, animal physiology considerations, and veterinary terminology when applicable Participate in routine equipment calibration, maintenance, and validation to uphold laboratory standards Skills Strong understanding of microbiology techniques including culturing, staining, microscopy, and molecular biology methods Knowledge of
GLP, CGMP, FDA
regulations, and quality control processes within an industrial or clinical laboratory setting Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) for data collection and tracking sample information Familiarity with histology, molecular biology assays, and clinical laboratory procedures is advantageous Ability to interpret scientific data accurately and apply analysis skills to troubleshoot experiments effectively Proficiency in laboratory techniques related to microbiology research as well as general lab procedures Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documenting experimental results and maintaining lab records This position is paid and offers a valuable opportunity to develop your expertise within a vibrant research environment.
