The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate processing and management of laboratory specimens, ensuring that all samples are handled in accordance with established protocols. This role is critical in maintaining the integrity of laboratory operations and supporting patient care through efficient specimen accessioning. Duties Accurately receive, label, and log laboratory specimens into the information management system. Ensure proper handling and storage of specimens to maintain their viability. Utilize aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during specimen processing. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to obtain necessary patient information and clarify orders. Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with laboratory safety standards. Assist in the training of new staff on laboratory procedures and protocols. Participate in quality control measures to ensure accurate test results. Experience Candidates should possess a strong background in laboratory management or clinical settings. A solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques is essential for success in this role. Previous experience working in a hospital or clinical laboratory environment will be highly regarded.
