Job Summary:
A s a Laboratory Aide, you will collect samples from patients for laboratory screenings, maintain inventory, and distribute supplies as a member of the Clinical Laboratory team.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Collects blood samples from neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients in the laboratory outpatient service area, laboratory area, nursing floors, or in the emergency room Labels specimens and transports them to the laboratory for testing Prepares urine specimens Maintains inventory of supplies and notifies leadership when supplies are n eeded Assists in charting and filing laboratory slips, answers the telephone, and assists in maintaining the laboratory in a clean and orderly condition The above summary of accountabilities is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed in this role. REQUIRE MENTS
High school diploma or equivalent Completion of formal phlebotomy program or previous experience with ability to demonstrate phlebotomy skills prior to employment.
