Job Description

Our client is a Bio-industrial corporation specializing in food science seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to support our food safety, quality, and operational teams. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on lab environment and is eager to grow within the food and animal nutrition industry. Located in Elk River, Mn 6 month Contract with extension
Pay:
$18-20/hour Key Responsibilities Perform routine analytical and laboratory testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products Conduct sample preparation including weighing and grinding of analytical samples Execute analytical testing such as ash content, forced air moisture, and vacuum moisture Monitor and verify instrumentation performance; perform calibration checks and basic preventive maintenance Document and interpret test results in internal databases and communicate findings to internal stakeholders Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards Support cross-functional teams to promote and maintain a strong food safety and quality culture Assist with routine inspections and support more complex testing under moderate supervision Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer specification documentation Handle administrative and technical tasks, escalating complex issues when needed Qualifications Background in food science, biology, chemistry, or related field preferred; High school diploma required Prior laboratory or quality control experience Experience with wet chemistry techniques Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals •This job description is a complete list of all desired skills, but not all are required.
