Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Lab Technician to join a quality-focused manufacturing team in Rogers, MN. This role is responsible for testing products, collecting and evaluating quality data, and determining whether materials meet customer specifications and process standards. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both customers and team members. This position also involves monitoring process conditions, evaluating testing equipment, and supporting quality assurance operations throughout production.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Testing & Inspection Perform hardness testing on incoming and outgoing products Complete microstructure and micro hardness analysis Measure product dimensions and inspect finished materials Evaluate and verify processing conditions throughout the facility Review product certifications prior to shipping documentation Documentation & Quality Control Collect, evaluate, and document testing data accurately Communicate quality concerns and process findings to production staff Maintain records related to inspections and quality procedures Determine if products meet customer specifications and requirements Equipment & Laboratory Support Verify testers using required standards and test blocks Evaluate testing equipment to ensure proper working condition Maintain a clean, organized, and safe quality lab environment Test salt baths and monitor chemistry levels as needed General Duties Follow all safety procedures and quality standards Communicate effectively with customers and team members Assist with additional quality or production-related tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma or GED Good communication and organizational skills Computer literacy and basic math skills Ability to read and write in English Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Ability to use measuring devices and inspection equipment Ability to lift and handle materials safely
Preferred:
Post-secondary lab or quality-related coursework Manufacturing, production, or inspection experience Quality control or metallurgical background Heat treating knowledge
Working Conditions:
Manufacturing and laboratory environment with exposure to heat, noise, chemicals, and moving materials Frequent standing, lifting, and material handling throughout the shift Lifting requirements range from 1-55 lbs depending on material size Proper PPE required including safety glasses, gloves, uniforms, and steel toe boots with metatarsal protection
