About the department:

Laboratory Services performs laboratory tests necessary for the diagnosis and treatment of hospital inpatients and outpatients in an accurate and timely manner.

A typical day will include:

Collecting and processing blood samples for the laboratory; acting as department receptionist; and filing and maintaining records. Collects specimens utilizing correct equipment and within specified timeframes Logs, prepares, and sends specimen to reference laboratory as indicated Calls, faxes, and / or sends test results to physicians as needed Greets and directs incoming patients to appropriate areas; answers incoming calls and forwards to appropriate personnel Cleans equipment and work area, and stocks supplies as needed

Job Requirements:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience:

One or more years of experience preferred

Skills:

Organization, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to multitask
