Key Responsibilities Prepare food, feeds, and related biological materials and by-products for analysis. Perform a variety of sensitive, tests, determinations, and analytical procedures using both standard and special procedures, equipment, examinations and analyses. Set-up, operate, and/or supervise maintenance of standard or specialized apparatus or laboratory equipment. Perform required internal and external Proficiency Checks to confirm laboratory performance. Prepare complete reports and written analyses as required for all phases of projects. Maintain a laboratory inventory to sustain ongoing analytical work. Receive instruction and direction from the laboratory director or designated individual. As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities may be expected in order to support the mission and purpose of the University of Missouri. Shift Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Some overtime and weekends may be required. Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a laboratory or research environment Familiarity with analytical instrumentation and testing methods Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records Ability to follow standardized procedures and safety protocols Anticipated Hiring Range The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $17.40 - $23.85 hourly. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
