Wastewater Laboratory Analyst

JOB The City of Jefferson is currently hiring a full time Laboratory Analyst for our Wastewater Division. This position is responsible for sample collection and laboratory analysis of wastewater samples as it pertains to the NPDES permit and plant process control. Generates reports and maintains spreadsheets in accordance to the NPDES permit and federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Collects samples for laboratory analyses and examination. Conducts various laboratory analyses including Settleability, TSS, MLSS, MLVSS, Settleable Solids, TS, H2S, e. coli, and BOD. Conducts various field measurements with portable lab equipment. Calculates, interprets, and maintains laboratory results and creates and maintains reports and spreadsheets. Conducts microbiological examination and identification. Monitors H2S in collection system.

Assists with the pretreatment and land application programs.

Calibrates equipment and conducts QA/QC requirements.

Informs Plant Manager and WWTP Supervisors of changes in lab data.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

Missouri Class C Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator's License or have the ability to obtain the required license. This position will be posted until filled.
