MLT Assistant

Job Description Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City is seeking a PRN Medical Lab Assistant to join our team! Performs medical laboratory testing classified as moderate or waived complexity in a CLIA-certified laboratory. Individual may be assessed and deemed competent to perform specifically-identified, highly complex procedures. This position is responsible for the accuracy, timely reporting and integrity of laboratory results.

PRN:

As Needed 2pm to 10:30pm Has working knowledge of and performs waived and moderate complex testing in accordance with laboratory's policy, procedures and regulatory standards. Successful performance in laboratory's external proficiency program. Organizes and prioritizes technical tasks with efficiency and minimal waste. Performs preventive maintenance of equipment and instrumentation within procedural guidelines and under the direction of a MLS or MLT. Reports waived and moderate complexity laboratory results in the Hospital LIS/EMR, as ordered by providers, and under the direction and review of MLS or MLT. Reviews and approves quality control results to affirm validity of patient results. Maintains instrumentation and confirms acceptable performance. Recognizes technical and/or instrumental issues that interfere with accurate testing and appropriately consults with a MLS or MLT for direction.
