Job Description
As Laboratory Technician at IDEXX, you perform laboratory testing that helps veterinarians diagnose and treat pets. Laboratory Technician:
You can expect to work, to start, in either our Sample Management Department or our Parasitology Department. Sample Management is where the samples enter the building, and in this role you will be helping to sort, tag, and prepare the samples for testing. In Parasitology, you will prepare fecal samples to be loaded and unloaded into our analyzers, and other techniques to help identify any existing ova or parasites. (You can learn a lot about the health of a pet from what's happening in their litter box or backyard!) You will use automated analyzers, microscopes and other laboratory diagnostic tools to perform analyses and tests that diagnose animal illnesses, injuries and diseases in support of veterinarian animal treatment. You will perform diagnostic tests on blood, urine, fecal or pet biopsy samples that we receive in our lab by the thousands, every day. You will set up and run lab tests, then read and release results according to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures). What you'll need to succeed: You possess a High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A 2- 3•or 4-year degree in a Science-related field is preferred.

Schedule:
We have a couple different schedules available: For the Sample Management Department, the schedule will be Tuesday through Saturday, 9:30am- 6pm. There is an every-third Monday rotation, with the Monday hours 4:30am
- 1pm. In the Parasitology Department, the schedule will be EITHER Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30am
- 5pm, or Tuesday through Saturday 4:30am
- 1pm (no additional rotation).
