Job Description Our Wilmington, NC laboratory is looking for a Laboratory Assistant to join their team! The Laboratory Assistant will complete a wide variety of support tasks for the Lab Technicians and Lab Analysts, ensuring best quality by following SGS' SOPs. The Laboratory Assistant works independently and as part of a team to ensure timely completion of all assigned tasks. The Laboratory Assistant always follows safe laboratory practices and maintains a safe working environment.
Job functions:
Signs out supplies from supply room. Maintains adequate supply of accessories, consumables, chemicals, etc. in each lab, to ensure efficiency of production work. Disposes of samples after the appropriate retention period. Documents in LIMS and disposes of expired/depleted chemicals. Assembles non-treated in-house media. Decontaminates/cleans laboratory glassware, containers, accessories, etc., following SOPs. Performs administrative tasks, as needed. Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures. Performs other duties as required.
