Laboratory Technician/Andrologist/MA(PartTime)

Growth oriented Fertility Practice located in Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill North Carolina is seeking an outstanding candidate to provide Lab Services (Andrology and Blood Draws) and other related tasks for our location in Wilmington, North Carolina .

Please note:

A four year degree in biology or other similar science program is required. The candidate will perform laboratory procedures such as semen analysis and prep for IUI's (training is provided). In addition, the individual will complete blood draws for send off to Lab Corp (phlebotomy) and assist with basic patient rooming/procedures/cleaning from time to time. This is a wonderful part time opportunity with hours of 7:30am to 12:30pm Monday thru Friday (no weekends). It is well suited for a graduate student or a recent college graduate. Individuals returning to the work force with science degrees, laboratory experience, and or other medical office experience will also be highly considered. Working alongside an Administrative Coordinator and a Nurse Practitioner, the three staff represent the practice and are a well respected and cohesive team serving patients in the Wilmington and surrounding area. Four year degree in Biology or other science degrees required.

Essential Responsibilities:

Routine andrology tests such as semen analysis, sperm preparation for IUI Preparing media and solution according the written procedures Draws blood samples and prepares them for pick up by Lab Corp Assists with procedures and rooming patients when available. Performs laboratory quality control (QC), quality assessment (QA), participates in quality improvement (QI), proficient test (PT) programs, record keeping and collection of data. Follows all laboratory SOPs and OSHA guidelines including universal precautions for blood borne pathogens. Assesses laboratory supplies to ensure sufficient supplies are available at all times; rotates stock to ensure outdated or expired materials are not used. Utilizing the Electronic Medical Record system to accurately report patient results in an established format. Other duties and projects as assigned Hours of Operation will be 7:30am-12:30pm Monday Thru Friday Salary is negotiable.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in biology, medical technology, clinical lab, or other health science field. Prior experience with phlebotomy Preferred Qualifications include 1 year experience in a laboratory setting, and four year degree in a science field, flexibility to work 7:30am to 12:30p Monday thru Friday Candidates with prior phlebotomy or medical assisting type backgrounds will be given top consideration.
