• Full-time Position Purpose To perform routine experiments and laboratory duties in support of research efforts by the Ghosh laboratory.

Description The technician will join a research team (https://www.diponghoshlab.com/) interested in learning more about how nervous systems work. The team uses genetic, cell biological, and behavioral approaches to study how a nematode roundworm Caenorhabditis elegans responds to environmental stimuli (for example, see Ghosh et al., Science 2021 371:1059-1063). Required Qualifications

• Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Familiarity with laboratory practices, including methods, procedures, and techniques, as well as handling equipment and instruments.

Ability to work independently with good judgment and organizational, time management, and communication skills. Willingness to work with/be exposed to hazardous materials such as radioactive materials, infectious materials, and/or hazardous chemicals. Knowledge of computers and software applications. Follows established safety procedures. Percentage Of Time 60% Description Records Maintains laboratory records of procedures. May assist in preparing laboratory reports. Records experimental data from research using graphs, logs, charts and statistical summaries. May perform limited library research and reference work for background materials.
