Job Title:
Lab Technician Job Description As a Lab Technician, you will be responsible for setting up and conducting lab tests in compliance with established protocols, SOPs, and applicable regulations such as GDPs, GMPs, and GCPs. Your role will involve preparing and organizing study documentation, performing station and instrumentation duties, and conducting pre-study meetings. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that staff understand and perform their duties according to protocols and SOPs. Responsibilities Set up and conduct lab tests ensuring compliance with protocols, SOPs, GDPs, GMPs, and GCPs. Prepare pH tests within the whirlpool to test products. Organize and maintain all study documentation forms, including drafting protocol amendments and other study-specific documents. Perform station and instrumentation duties on assigned studies, including the collection and recording of clinical information. Prepare for and conduct pre-study meetings, ensuring staff are informed and compliant with protocols and SOPs. Respond to queries from Quality Assurance and Statistics Departments. Prepare and manage all Test Material for studies. Deliver excellent customer service to clients and panelists, maintaining positive interactions with peers and supervisors. Essential Skills Degree in Chemistry Proficiency in wet chemistry techniques, especially pH testing Flexibility in clinical trial settings Strong data entry skills Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in a sunscreen department Reliability, attention to detail, and accountability Ability to handle stress with humility Lab experience Self-starter and team player Experience in the service industry (e.g., waitress, bartender, hotel) Work Environment The work schedule is primarily Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional Saturdays. The role involves performing physical tasks such as wet and dry tests, multi pours, and cleaning the whirlpool. Testing involves overseeing waterproof claims of sunscreen by managing the whirlpool for 20 minutes and conducting pH testing of the water. The lab environment requires focus and prohibits phone use during work hours. Flexibility around the standard schedule is necessary, and the role offers an introduction to research. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elizabeth, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
