Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist V for the department of Neurosurgery at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Research Teaching Specialist V ( RTS ), performs work requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and assisting with computational data analysis and data management. The RTS V will be tasked to design, test, and evaluate methods and protocols for processing and analyzing electrophysiological and behavioral data. Under direction, the neurophysiological data will be interpreted along with the behavioral analysis performance of the animals. The RTS V will summarize and organize data collected and publish the results of investigations in professional journals. This position will perform assigned research activities under the supervision and mentorship of the Principal Investigator. Among the key duties of this position are the following: As directed, performs various research and technical operations relative to the ongoing investigatory activities of the laboratory. Participates in the evaluation of existing procedures suggesting revisions where necessary and proposing new procedures where required. Assists with training fellows, students and lab technicians in laboratory techniques as directed. Responsible for submitting purchase recommendations to the supervisor. Ensures that laboratory equipment is maintained in good working orders. Keeps detailed records of procedures and experiments.
