Lab Technician

About the Role We are hiring a Lab Technician to support our R&D and pilot plant operations. In this hands-on role, you'll operate and calibrate lab equipment, support formulation trials on our pilot machines, and help our food scientists turn early-stage ideas into scalable products. This is an excellent opportunity for someone in the food science industry or a related field who wants realworld experience in product development and manufacturing. What You'll Do Operate a range of lab and pilot-scale equipment to support product development and quality testing. Calibrate, clean, and perform routine maintenance on lab instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability. Assist food scientists in running formulation trials on pilot machines, including weighing ingredients, mixing, processing, and recording results. Prepare samples for analysis and conduct standard physical, chemical, and sensory tests. Document procedures, observations, and results clearly in lab notebooks and electronic systems. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe lab environment in compliance with GMP, food safety, and OSHA standards. Track inventory of raw materials, reagents, and lab supplies, and notify the team when reorders are needed. Support cross-functional teams (R&D, QA, Production) with sample prep, data collection, and trial execution. What We're Looking For Required Associate's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures precisely. Comfortable working with hands-on equipment in a lab and pilot plant environment. Solid math skills (units, measurements, percentages, basic calculations for formulations). Good written and verbal communication; able to document work clearly. Reliable, team-oriented, and willing to learn new techniques quickly. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. Authorization to work in the United States. Nice to Have Prior internship, co-op, or hands-on experience in a food, beverage, chemical, or manufacturing lab. Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, food safety, or ISO standards. Experience with pilot-scale equipment such as mixers, extruders, homogenizers, retorts, or spray dryers. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and electronic lab record-keeping.
