We are hiring Full Time and PRN sleep technologists to practice sleep technology (perform sleep studies) at our ten bed sleep center in Albuquerque, NM. Who Is Right For This Job We want registered sleep technologists (RPSGT) or licensed respiratory therapists with 2 plus years experience in sleep technology. We will train respiratory therapists with no experience in sleep technology. We will also train exceptional (non-credentialed) job candidates with demonstrated achievements, degrees, or credentials in other fields. We hire organized, smart, motivated, and mature individuals with a proven track record of accomplishment. Only licensed sleep technologists or respiratory therapists with 2 years of experience running sleep studies are considered for PRN or part time positions. Job Description This job is practicing sleep technology (performing sleep studies) at our ten bed sleep center in Albuquerque, NM. Sleep technology is a fascinating field and a great career. The sleep lab work schedule is a 3 day work week, 12 hour shifts, 7 pm
  • 7 am.
OmniSleep runs sleep studies 7 days a week.
IMPORTANT
We have a rotating schedule that changes every two weeks to ensure that no sleep tech works more weekends than others. Most staff strongly prefer this to getting stuck on a schedule, for example, always working Friday-Sunday. Pay and Benefits The position is full time with competitive pay, medical and dental benefits, 401k with company match, disability insurance, paid holidays, and PTO. Part time and PRN employees don't qualify for benefits. It is a great opportunity to work at a company that values helping patients to be healthy while participating in mutually supportive work team. Responsibilities Conduct overnight sleep studies to monitor and record patients' sleep patterns and vital signs. Score sleep studies on the fly so that they are ready for physician interpretation after the study. Set up and calibrate polysomnography equipment to ensure accurate data collection. Analyze sleep study results and prepare detailed reports for physicians' review. Educate patients on proper sleep hygiene and the use of CPAP machines if necessary. Maintain accurate records of patient information and test results. Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide comprehensive patient care. Participate in team meetings as required. Qualifications Two years experience as a sleep technologist or sleep technician is preferred. RPSGT or RT credential preferred. Individuals without the RPSGT or RT that have demonstrated significant achievement in another field, as evidenced by licensure, degrees, or certificates. Previous night shift experience is required
  • at least a 6 month period.
Must be confirmed with past employers. Patient care experience strongly preferred. High School diploma (or GED)
REQUIRED.
Demonstrated ability to complete an educational program and pass a competency exam is
REQUIRED.
College degree preferred. Excellent work references from past direct supervisors (not co-workers or friends). Must be provided in resume or job application to be considered for employment. Competence with Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. Competence with electronic medical records is preferred. Fluency in Spanish strongly preferred.
