Varies Posting Detail Information Position Summary The University at Buffalo's Center for Integrated Global Biomedical Sciences (CIGBS) , is currently seeking to add a laboratory Research Support Specialist to our team to support our Clinical Pharmacology Quality Assurance (CPQA) Laboratory Program . This position is an outstanding opportunity for individuals to foster valuable laboratory skills in the realm of clinical research trials. In this position individuals will employ laboratory methods utilizing liquid chromatography with triple quadrupole mass spectrometry and other detection equipment, assure sample collection and storage parameters for clinical pharmacology studies have been properly identified and followed, and ensure applicable regulatory requirements are followed. CIGBS advances innovative research and promotes international collaboration in emerging areas of drug development. The center also holds a prestigious NIH contract for a global clinical pharmacology quality assurance (CPQA) program.
Job Duties:
Follow all CIGBS policies and standard operating procedures to competently, and safely, perform assigned technical and laboratory administrative support, including, but not limited to: Use, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment Order, use and maintain laboratory resource inventories and associated records Prepare, qualify, and maintain reagents for laboratory developed tests Create, update, and maintain laboratory and program-associated records Support CPQA program including shipment of panels, reporting, document maintenance and review, and with audits and accreditation. Minimum Qualifications Baccalaureate degree in related field with at least one year of applicable experience in a laboratory setting Preferred Qualifications Experience in a regulated (CLIA, GLP, GMP,ISO) laboratory environment Technical experience in a laboratory that employs use of USP- or laboratory-developed tests for research purposes (clinical preferred), product quality assurance (GMP preferred), or bioanalysis Technical testing experience using hybrid mass spectrometry technology and its associated sample preparation techniques in human or animal matrixes Physical Demands This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment, to work with chemical, biological, pathogenic, and other hazardous materials, and to work in BSL-2 laboratories. This position requires that the individual can lift/carry a minimum of 25lbs. This position requires that the individual be able to work in a typical environment that requires standing, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, walking. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
