Ghaly Sleep has an immediate opening for a full-time Nurse Practitioner. We are one of the largest independent sleep medicine practices in Upstate New York, providing adult and pediatric consultative and sleep testing services. Responsibilities Analyzes and evaluates patient data, sleep test findings (to diagnose nature or extent of sleep disorder) and to assesses treatments Initiates referrals for further sleep testing and other specialist consultations, including psychological testing for insomnia as needed Collaborates with physicians, psychologist or other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress Attends and participates in staff meetings Communicates clearly and accurately with clients, visitors, and colleagues: displaying friendly, helpful behavior Uses judgment and tact, particularly when communicating sensitive information. Displays sensitivity to the needs of clients, visitors and colleagues, treating everyone with consideration, courtesy and respect Assists in the education of patients and family members Provides pharmacologic consultation and intervention, including prescription of medications related to sleep Evaluates the effectiveness of prescribed medication while considering potential negative side effects Completes all documentation regarding all assessments in a timely and competent manner. Knows and adheres to all federal, state, and local statutes and regulatory agency standards •
