This full-time role manages quality and compliance across histology, cytopathology, the gross room, and mortuary services. The position ensures adherence to NYS CLEP, CAP, and TJC standards while providing leadership and technical support to the lab team. Schedule Full-time, day shift, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, totaling 35 hours per week. Compensation $120,000 - $140,000 Per Year What You'll Do You will oversee day-to-day laboratory operations across histology, cytopathology (currently limited to send-outs, with future expansion planned), the gross room, and mortuary, ensuring adherence to NYS CLEP, CAP, and TJC standards. You will provide leadership and administrative guidance to laboratory staff, develop and manage staffing schedules, and implement cross-training programs to build staff competencies. On the operational side, you will supervise financial functions including purchasing and vendor contract evaluations, engage the lab in proficiency programs, and maintain the quality control system. You will keep laboratory procedures and manuals current and approved, conduct performance evaluations, provide technical support to personnel, and organize continuing education and professional development. You will also ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. Required Qualifications Valid NYSED license as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist Active NYS Histotechnologist (HT) license Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology, Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or a related field, or equivalent laboratory experience with supervisory duties Minimum of five years of laboratory experience, including at least two years in a supervisory role within a healthcare setting At least four years of experience in anatomic pathology Proficiency with laboratory information systems such as Cerner and Epic, and with Microsoft Office Strong understanding of ISO standards and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) Preferred Qualifications Experience overseeing cytopathology operations, including planning for in-house expansion of send-out services Familiarity with gross room and mortuary operations Experience managing vendor contracts and laboratory purchasing ASCP certification (HTL or equivalent) Compensation and Benefits Comprehensive benefits package Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) or 403(b) retirement plan Paid time off To apply, submit your resume through the application link.
