Job Description

Durez is accepting resumes for the position of Lab Technician, Full time Afternoon, Monday-Friday 3:45pm-11:45pm. $26.43 per hour to start, $30.33 per hour after 1 year and $34.71 per hour after 2 years. DUTIES:
( This is a representative list to which additional duties may be assigned ) Collect samples of production materials from the plant. To replenish laboratory supplies of chemicals from plant stocks as required by the plant supervision. Carry out physical and chemical control tests on resins from plant production and/or experimental batches. Keep records of test results, file away the samples. Calibrate lab equipment as required. Clean glassware and laboratory. Pack sales samples, receive and unpack laboratory supplies. Perform any other tasks required for the operation of the laboratory. Perform in-process and final tests when required. Perform all final testing of finished product and bulk storage trailers. Prepare product samples for shipment to a customer who includes obtaining material from the plant, grinding, testing, proper labeling, packaging and delivery to carrier pickup area. During the course of job duties, must be able to prevent/contain chemical spills in order to ensure employee safety and protection of the environment. Perform any and all supplemental duties involving the use of common skills while performing normal job functions. Operate forklift as instructed by supervision or as required to perform his/her job duties. Identify and report equipment issues to manager as soon as recognized. Troubleshoot when possible.
Qualifications:
Education:
Associate's degree in related field, preferred.
Experience:
4 years related lab experience. Chemical plant experience a plus.
Training:
Must successfully complete any required regulatory training and forklift training. Additional training may be required.
Physical Action:
Job requires the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating procedures and lab testing directions. This position requires the ability to effectively present information to other employees of the organization. Job requires the ability to perform basic and, on some occasions, advanced mathematical calculations.
