Job Description

Overview St. Catherine of Siena Hospital is a proud member of Catholic Health and has served the residents of the Smithtown area for more than 50 years. St. Catherine's is located on the north shore of Long Island in Smithtown. The campus is comprised of a 296-bed not-for-profit community hospital; a 240-bed nursing and rehabilitation care center; and a 60,000 square foot medical office building. Job Details The Lead Medical Laboratory Assistant assists laboratory leadership maintain the orderly and efficient operation of the phlebotomy and reference lab departments. Additionally, the lead medical laboratory assistant must be able to perform all routine and special duties associated with the department in a prompt, accurate and reliable manner according to established hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Performs additional duties as required by the Administrative Director of the Laboratory, Quality Systems Manager, the Managers/Supervisors and/or the Laboratory Medical Director.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Certificate from an approved phlebotomy training program or a medical laboratory assistant program (which includes phlebotomy) preferred. Minimum 5 years phlebotomy experience. Supervisory experience preferred. Posted Salary Range USD $28.93 - USD $28.93 /Hr. The salary range or rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
