Job Description

Job Summary The Mobility Tech practices under direct supervision of the Senior Nurse Manager (or designee) focusing on patient mobility. This position performs delegated activities that include but are not limited to patient mobility, infection control processes, assisting patients in activities of daily living, transporting patients to and from treatment areas, inspecting and maintaining equipment, transferring out of bed and bed to chair as well as other surfaces as able or needed, and a variety of unit functions to support clinical staff in provision of treatment plans. Core Job Responsibilities Works with PT/OT and Nursing to ensure appropriate maintenance care for patients including but not limited to: Passive range of motion with RN or PT/OT guidance or instruction Assisting
RN/PT/OT/PCT
with activities of daily living Observe patient response to activity and report changes to supervising clinicians Encourage patient's active participation in functional tasks to the best of the patient's ability Promote proper use of safe patient handling equipment Ensure appropriate turning and repositioning, getting patients out of bed for meals and off-loading pressure areas (adhering to Q2 or physician orders) Maintain Safe Patient Handling equipment and inventory to ensure all units have equally distributed equipment Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients to provide encouragement and instructions during mobility sessions. Participate in team huddles, in-services, and training sessions relevant to rehabilitation and patient safety. Ensure work areas and equipment are clean, organized, and in good working order. Adhere to all hospital policies, including infection control, patient privacy (HIPAA), and safety regulations. Assist physical therapists, occupational therapists, and nursing staff with patient mobilization, including ambulation, bed-to-chair transfers, and repositioning. Support early mobility protocols for post-surgical, medically complex, or deconditioned patients. Perform related duties as required. Education/Experience Requirements
REQUIRED
High school diploma or GED equivalent Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Dependable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams. Respectful, patient-focused approach with a commitment to safety and dignity.
PREFERRED
Enrolled in a Health care studies or related program (Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, PT Assistant etc). Knowledge of basic patient handling techniques and assistive devices. Licensure/Certification Requirements

BLS certification.
